Showtime at the Seaside Now Open Dec 6th to Dec 11th.
A selection of Edinburgh artist Sharon Woods’s latest work is on display at Creations Art & Craft Supplies on the high street. The main attraction are four very individually crafted chairs, all collaged with real post cards using a very involved technique to extract the photos. Each has its own unique chic ranging from Saucy Seaside post cards to a black & white exposé of London, Paris and New York.
Along with the chairs are a range of uniquely designed and crafted cushions, from poodle kitsch to molecular fun.

All items are for sale at very competitive prices.

Half way through my latest chair, which is a collage of postcards from New York, Paris and London. This is taking a lot longer than I thought as the cards I want are pretty hard to come by. So anyways seeing as its taking so long I thought Id put up some pictures of the work in progress, I think ive got the wrong resolution on the photos, but hope you get the idea, technology isnt my strong point.
Also just started working on a saucy seaside postcard chair, a bit un-PC but very kitsch and the colours are going to look fab.

Just found some of my old work I did when I was doing fashion and textiles at college. The big embroidery was my interpretation of Adam and Eve and the clothes were part of a project I was doing on kitsch/graffiti/new york

Just about finished my latest chair its coverered with postcards mainly from the 70′s 80′s, mostly coming from around Britain’s now fading seaside holiday destinations. I wanted to catch the spirit of the classic seaside holiday with donkeys, icecreams, knotted hankies and tired but happy children.

This was the brainchild of my partner Tssneem Lozano, a completely enclosed, customizable tunnel was put into the skirt, although we made a lot of these between us sewing them was the equivilant of rubbing your head and patting your stomach, and if you want to fully understand, try sewing one.
The tunnels were great fun as we could put anything in them, we went on to do double tunnel tunnel tops and eventually contrasting neon.

Pete Burns, this was made for you!
The double tunnel shown above was made for Pete Burns, but just like bjork we couldnt get in contact and there ended our venture into dressing our idols.
